Corpus Christi’s Magee Beach. Downtown on Shoreline Blvd., McGee Beach is a wonderful beach where families play and swim in the calm Gulf waters. This small stretch of sand is a perfect swimming spot for children and a peaceful place to wade after a stroll along Corpus Christi’s seawall. Sit on the seawall, watch boats sail by or walk to the bayfront T-heads, where shrimp boats sell fresh seafood. Leashed pets are permitted.
North Beach and Corpus Christi Beach. Swim, surf, and sunbathe at beautiful North Beach and Corpus Christi Beach - just across the Harbor Bridge from Corpus Christi. Bob Hall Pier, Padre Balli Park and J.P. Luby Surf Park. Beaches between Bob Hall Pier and J.P. Luby Surf Park are favorites for sunning, playing volleyball, surfing, swimming, boogie boarding and beach barbecues. Rent jet skis and boogie boards, or buy refreshments right on the beach. Padre Balli Park includes 66 campsites, picnic tables, cabanas and a bath house. Bonfires and leashed pets are permitted at both parks. For $1 you can walk onto the Bob hall Pier to fish for sharks, whiting, hardheads, tarpon and speckled trout or watch the surfers.

Mustang Island State Beach. Just southeast of Corpus Christi, Mustang Island offers five miles of sandy serenity. One of the most popular family beaches in Texas, the beach offers excellent picnicking, fishing, beachcombing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, sunbathing, surfing, horseback riding, birding, barbecuing, and camping. Port Aransas BeachesPort Aransas Beaches. The peaceful beaches of Port Aransas attract birdwatchers, surfers, parasailers and families who swim, camp and fish off the rock jetties on either side of the Corpus Christi Ship Channel. Horace Caldwell Pier is popular for fishing and surfing the waves below. Take a wildlife trip or fishing excursion, or just enjoy beachfront restaurants. Parking on the beach is free at Nueces County Park. Leashed pets are allowed.

Rockport Beach. Certified as Texas’ first Blue Wave Beach by the Clean Beaches Council in Washington, D.C., Rockport Beach is one of the nation’s cleanest, safest and most environmentally managed beaches. Straddled by Aransas Bay and Little Bay, its shallow, calm waters are an oasis for families. The pet-friendly beach has a playground, picnic facilities, an exercise trail, a lighted fishing jetty, volleyball courts, a bird observation platform, a saltwater swimming pool, a boat ramp and two indoor pavilions.

Oleander Point. Sportsmen flock to Oleander Point for its excellent windsurfing and kitesurfing, catching waves and wind to perform intricate aerial moves. The U.S. Cellular U.S. Open Windsurfing Regatta is held here every May. Corpus Christi Beach Getaways!  [Top]
